Renewal Requirements

Step 1: Complete Post-License Education

After obtaining your Florida Real Estate License, you must complete your post-licensing education before your license renewal date. Your first renewal date is between 18 and 24 months after you receive your initial license.

  • Sales Associates: 45 hours of post-licensing education required.
  • Brokers: 60 hours of post-licensing education required.

Mato School of Real Estate offers both courses in formats designed to fit your busy schedule — online or in-person at our Naples campus.

Once you have completed the required hours and passed the school exam, Mato School of Real Estate will submit proof of your completion to the Department of Business and Professional
Regulation (DBPR). Your education record is submitted within 7 days of course completion.

Step 2: Renew Your License

Approximately 90 days before your license renewal date (January 1 for March 31 renewals, and July 1 for September 30 renewals), the DBPR will notify you by mail and email with instructions to
renew your license.

  • Renewal Fees: $64 for Sales Associates, $72 for Brokers.
  • Payments can be made online at the DBPR website or by mailing a check.
  • Payments must be received during the 90-day renewal period. The DBPR does not accept payment before this window.
